4K NINJAS TAKE COLOR MONITORING 'ON THE ROAD' WITH JMR'S BLUESTOR DIGILAB AT CINE GEAR EXPO 2010

Live demonstration will illustrate how DigiLab Video Server saves valuable production time and money

JMR Electronics Inc., the leading performance provider of scalable storage systems for video and data intensive applications, will showcase its just released BlueStor™ DigiLab™ Video Server at Cine Gear Expo 2010 on June 4th and 5th.

With the help of a group of RED ONE™ 4K camera users known as the 4K Ninjas, DigiLab will be demonstrated in a rack arrangement on board the team's "Road Grader," a Dodge Sprinter van that serves as a mobile data processing center. The 4K Ninjas' DigiLab setup will feature Assimilate™ SCRATCH® software, an NVIDIA® Quadro® Plex multi-GPU visual computing system (VCS) and RED ROCKET™ graphics acceleration hardware.

BlueStor DigiLab is an extremely flexible, open platform storage system that delivers unprecedented on-location digital image processing performance, high resolution monitoring and control functionality for the most demanding digital cinema workflows.  The DigiLab provides the ability to quickly capture files directly from the camera's storage, monitor raw footage in real time, apply first pass color correction right on location and even burn a Blu-ray™ disc for dailies with the viewing LUTs (Look Up Tables) applied.

At Cine Gear Expo, the DigiLab will run Assimilate's SCRATCH software with 4K RED footage output to a 4K display, thus showcasing the server's strengths as a mobile, on-set color monitoring and color grading platform. Earlier this year, DigiLab proved its worth in the field during the production of Sixteen Wishes, a film scheduled to air this summer on the Disney Channel. DigiLab's unique ability to ingest, review and process HD footage, saved the production thousands of dollars in daily lab fees. DigiLab's installation on board the Road Grader will mark its first use in a studio on wheels. Its 3x3 foot size makes it an extremely portable asset to any HD video or feature film production.

The 14th Annual Cine Gear Expo is the premier Film, Video, and Digital Media Expo for the entertainment industry.
