of intensive research and development. BlueStor™ is a highly scalable
architecture designed to meet the needs of mission-critical data
storage technologists and users.

Sharing a common modern industrial design, BlueStor™ currently includes high performance 3U high rackmount storage servers; a high performance 3U rackmount SAS Expander JBOD for use with SAS or SATA disk drives; a unique, disruptive technology direct-attached (PCIe) storage PeSAN™ RAID in the same form factor; a unique PCIe 1U rackmount switch; and accessories to connect those devices to form the highest IOPS, widest bandwidth data storage networks available.  PeSAN™ is so unique it’s covered by its own U.S. Patent

The feature-rich BlueStor™ 3U rackmount products share many common and interchangeable elements, reducing the cost and complexity of FRUs and spares.  Disk drive canisters are all high-technology, lightweight, low-cost vibration-dampening resin with integrated lightpipes, single-piece EMI shields and latching handles.  Cooling systems for the SAS Expander and PeSAN™ are common interchangeable low-profile centrifugal blower modules mounted in lightweight, low-cost, noise and vibration dampening resin.   They “hot swap” with the push of a button and a low-energy pull of their integrated, molded handles.  The N+1 hot-swappable power supplies are also common elements to those two platforms.

Any BlueStor™ SAS Expander may be field upgraded to a direct-attached PCIe RAID storage system by replacing one pluggable module.

All BlueStor™ 3U rackmounts provide for sixteen (16) hot-swappable SAS or SATA drives mounted vertically, not horizontally, for minimum vibration, best signal path optimization and minimum airflow restriction, yielding cooler operating disk drives than any competitive product.  BlueStor™ products are 100% compatibility tested with every SAS and SATA-2 (3.5” form factor) disk drive on the market.
